Love in the Time of the Internet

A must-watch movie from IdeaFirst Company, Cignal Entertainment and October Train Films’ “Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wifi”.

In this digital age where people are always online, constantly connected, it almost feels impossible to be without an internet connection, let alone be without a gadget in hand.

“Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wifi” is about Norma who suffers from electromagnetic hypersensitivity syndrome. This prevents her from being near a cell phone, tablet, laptop or even wi-fi.

Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wifi offers a new and modern spin to the classic tale of a young adult finding oneself. Here are five reasons why you should see this movie!

1. “Ang Babaeng Allergic sa WiFi” is a full-length feature film production and is one of the eight feature films chosen by the Film Development Council of the Philippines for the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2018.

2. The movie is a Grade A with high technical values and rich in content. Generally made for the family audience.

3. The movie was written and directed by an award-winning director—Jun Robles Lana. He won awards in the Philippines and abroad, including Best Director in international film festivals for Anino Sa Likod ng Buwan. He is also the director of Die Beautiful, and 2018’s Star Cinema blockbuster, Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes.

4. The movie is inspired by a true story about a British man who was allergic to wifi. Lana said that he was inspired to create this movie when he came across a certain news about electromagnetic hypersensitivity syndrome back in 2009.

5. A powerhouse and youthful cast starring Sue Ramirez, Jameson Blake and introducing Markus Paterson. The movie also stars Yayo Aguila and Boots Anson Roa, among others.

Ang Babaeng Allergic sa WiFi is set to open in cinemas nationwide on August 15, 2018.
