THE START OF 2020: God Is With Us!

NoInk   |   04 February 2020

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33

Earthquakes Around The World.

Australia Bushfire.

US-IRAN Tension.

Ukraine Airliner Crash.

Taal Volcano Eruption.

Novel Coronavirus.

Kenya, Somalia’s Locusts Outbreak.

What's next?

We’re finally in the month of February today but the devastating disasters of January are still fresh in our minds. It’s like nakaisang taon na tayo sa tagal ng paghihintay na matapos ang month of January, and to think na we’re just in our second month of the year!

Wow! Kaya mo pa ba?!

Our world today is facing uncertain times due to these disasters na nararanasan ng bawat bansa. At dahil dito, majority of us e’ hindi maiwasang mag-panic, mawalan ng pag-asa, o magwala sa mga social media statuses nila just to blame anyone na they think was the cause of all these disasters na nangyayari sa mundo. And it’s pretty normal since the situations that the world are dealing with have posed uncertainty in the hearts of the people.

When will these devastating world situations start to see breakthrough?

25 What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me. 26 I have no peace, no quietness; I have no rest, but only turmoil.” –Job 3: 25-26

25 Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

—Matthew 6:25-27

Jesus teaches us that our worries are irrelevant. Meaning, walang kwenta, walang halaga. Our worries, fears, stress, won’t do anything para magbago ang future natin o ang current situation meron ang mundo. Even if you are someone na may pinagdadaanan sa mga oras na ito, feeling mo wala ng pag-asa, imposibleng may magbago pa, at pagsuko na lang talaga ang tanging naiisip mong solusyon, I am telling you that God is speaking to you right now to tell you na MAHALAGA KA SA KANIYA at handa Siyang tulungan ka if you will only allow Him to work upon your lifeKaya bago ka sumuko, ituloy mo pa ang pagbabasa para malaman mo kung paano nga ba.

Sometimes, in the midst of disaster, we need to learn how to accept the fact that what will be will be, and just remember that God is with us along the way. We can’t stop bad things from happening for we don’t know when and where will it strike us, right? So, the only thing for us to do is to make a decision to move on with our lives instead of drowning ourselves with negative thoughts na kailanman ay hindi na magbabago ang sitwasyon natin - OF COURSE, NOT! If you will only open your heart to this hope that God can turn your life around, from miserable life into a victorious one, and you will seek Him with all of your heart, then you can have a good night sleep knowing that God is in control of your life.

“33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” —Matthew 6:34

God is commanding us not to worry dahil hindi naman natin kayang baguhin ang present world conflicts, maging ang kahahantungan natin sa future. This is a reminder that we should not be afraid of tomorrow for God is already there. He knows the future because He is already in the future seeing what will happen and how it will all happen. That’s why He’s telling us not to worry over those things because His promise to us is that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6). And no situation in this world will ever invalidate His Words.

The common question that people are asking today is… “Bakit nangyayari ang lahat ng ito sa mundo?” Unfortunately, the enemy – the devil, is still working in this world. In John 10:10, it tells there that the thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Steal what? Kill what? Destroy what? Our life, happiness, security, peace, etc. That’s his job from the very start. And ano namang trabaho ni Lord sa buhay natin? Still, in John 10:10, Jesus said that he have come to this world so that we may have life, and have it to the full.

That’s why if you will only study the Bible, Jesus has already warned us that our life here on earth will never be smooth sailing.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33

And if you believe in God, you should not be surprised sa disasters na kinakaharap ng mundo or even sa sariling battle ng buhay mo. It is not a question of it, but when. Meaning… Difficulties in life are expected to happen.

BUT…there are promises during the uncertain times. Some of those are...

“He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.” —Isaiah 33:6

God is the stability, our foundation, sa kahit anomang pagsubok mayro'n tayo. Mawala man ang mga trabaho natin, pera, bahay, at kahit mahal sa buhay...just like Job in the bible, we will never be shaken because our foundation is Christ Jesus.

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” —Psalm 18:2

Kapag dumating ang oras na hindi mo na mahanap ang peace of mind mo, remember that God is our rock – our stronghold. Instead na magpakalunod sa chaos and darkness, call upon the name of The Lord and be saved!

If you really believe in God, then stand firm in your faith.

“…If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.” –Isaiah 18:9

The question is...who is your rock?

When Jesus said that we will face troubles in this world, He is not only pertaining to a particular set of people na makakaranas no'n. Lahat tayo! No exemption, ‘no! So if you will say to me na matatag ang faith mo kay Lord kaya you will never face problems, diyan ka nagkakamali.

Let’s learn from the life of Apostle Paul, who is such a faithful servant of Jesus, and to the life of Jesus Himself. In Acts 27: 15-20 and Mark 4: 35-37, we can only imagine how strong those real storms were habang nasa bangka sina Paul at Jesus. It’s a life and death situation. “Are we all going to die?” isip siguro ng mga kasama nila sa bangka.

But imagine? Wow! Now, we can all learn na kahit matatag ang pananampalataya mo sa Diyos ay makakaranas ka pa rin ng bagyo sa buhay mo. That’s a fact. Pero…we can also learn na maaari pa rin tayong mabuhay ng mapayapa sa gitna ng bagyo.

Hindi dahil walang pakialam si Hesus kung malunod man sila o hindi during that big storm kaya natutulog lang Siya nang mga oras na iyon, but it is because alam Niyang He is in control. Why would he worry kung kontrolado Niya ang lahat ng bagay, right? AAt iyon ang nakalimutan ng mga tao.

In the midst of troubles, disasters, problems, calamities, find your peace in Jesus. He is with us tulad ng pangako Niya. Faithful is He who promised. He will never change because He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. (Hebrews 13:8)

  1. LISTEN to God (Prov. 23-33) “…But whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.” You know? There can be instructions na ibinibigay si Lord from the Bible na hindi tayo sang-ayon o iba ang pananaw ng mundo, but remind yourself to focus your heart to God and say “He is right, I am wrong. I will obey.” Don’t learn the hard way. Listen to His instructions now. The world may fail you many times, but He will certainly not. So, listen to Him.
  2. WALK with God (1 Chron. 15:2) “By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firm to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.” Don’t ignore God if you know He is talking to you right now. Open your heart to Him and let God rearrange your life. Follow his instruction and live by it. The Word of God can be bitter at first for we are to deal with our old ways na akala natin noon ay tama, that’s why we have to keep on eating His Words until it gets sweet. Walk with God for He is with you when you are with Him.
  3.  FOLLOW His instructions – (Luke 6: 46-49) "Why do you call me,  'Lord,  Lord'and do not do what I say?  As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice,  I will show you what they are like.  They are like a man building a house,  who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock.  When flood came,  the torrent struck that house but could not shake it,  because it was well built.  But the one whoe hears my words and does not pyt them into practice is like a manwho built a house on the ground without foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house,  it collapsed and its destruction  was complete. "  What kind of believer are you?  Are you the one who loves to hear His words but does not do/follow them?  Or are you both a hearer and doer of His words? In this world today,  it is so easy to say that we believe in God.  But it takes an effort to be a hearer and doer of Word. No buts or ifs,  no excuses.  This will help us to dig our foundation deeper in His Words, building it firm in whatever season of life.
  4. WATCH your attitudes – (Mark 4:38) “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?!” When problem arises, never question the heart of God. Watch out your attitudes before Him. God doesn’t change – He is always good, merciful, and gracious. We may not understand why bad things are happening but it will never erase the fact that God is with us and will never leave us. He has the power to turn things around; from bad to good, from defeat to victory, from darkness to light. Don’t walk in fear because there’s no fear in the heart of The Savior. Remember, he pays attention to those who speaks well and ill of Him, so watch out! (Malachi 3: 13-16)

We take God in His words. If God said it, we believe it. We may not know paano Niya lulutasin ang problema ng mundo o ang problema mo, but one thing is certain – we put our faith and trust in Him.

We are  all expected to be Holy...  In 1 Peter 1:16, God said...  "Be holy,  because I am holy."  When someone mocks you by trying your best to be holy, take it as a compliment.  You're doing what God had said.  : )  And if  you want to receive the gift God have promised us,  then focus your eyes on Jesus. He is the only way to get through everything in this world and the only way our Father in Heaven will accept our prayers. For even Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11:1, "Follow me as I Follow Christ."  Our salvation in this world will be found in no one else but to Him.

Now, if you know in your heart that you are still not right with God, at nag-aalala ka na baka hindi pakinggan ni Lord ang mga dasal mo dahil doon… This is the right time to change that. Just open your heart to Him and let me help you with this simple prayer…

Dear Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. Please forgive me for all the sins I have ever committed. I am now here, opening my heart to you, please come into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour. Change me, Lord.  Baptize me in your Spirit. Maraming salamat po sa inyong walang hanggang awa at pagpapala. Maraming salamat po. I love you, Lord. In Jesus name...  Amen.

Now that you just gave your life kay Christ, it’s very important na palawigin mo pa ang inyong relationship. Get to know him more by praying and reading your bible every day. Remember na relationship n’yo ‘yan kaya dapat trabahuhin mo. Also, attend a church na nagtuturo ng Word of God.  Hindi pwedeng once a month o once in a blue moon! Dapat regularly. Try mong once in a blue-moon lang ikaw makipagkita sa bf/gf mo, bukas makalawa – break na kayo. Don’t wait for God to have that break-up with you, okay?

Kaya naman this year of 2020, allow God to pour out His peace in your heart. Ano man ang nangyayari o mangyayari, cast away your fears. THIS 2020: GOD IS WITH US – ALWAYS.

Kaya ikaw diyan, quit worrying – FIGHTING LANG NANG FIGHTING!
