Grow Your Passion

A world without a story to tell is dead.

We want every writer to grow in their passion as they keep on writing without fear and for readers to enter a new world as they continue to read NoInk novels, articles, essays, social seryes, poems – at marami pang iba!

And as our brand continues to evolve, naghahanap kami ng mga new talents na talaga namang love na love ang pagsusulat. Kaya naman for this article, we want to introduce to you one of our most passionate and dedicated NoInk Writer.

Give it up for - heartlessnostalgia.

We managed to grab a quick online interview with Heartlessnostalgia. Enjoy!

NOINK: Hi! First of all, please, introduce yourself to us muna.

“Hi, I’m Chennie Cerro, you can call me Chennie or Chen if you like. I’m twenty years old and I am known as heartlessnostalgia of NoInk.”

NOINK: Wow! You’re just twenty years old palang pala, pero ilang stories nang nasulat mo? What genres?

“Currently, I already finished thirteen novels, some short stories and one-shots. The genre I always like to write is romance since I’m a sucker for happily-ever afters! Currently, I published four novels and I am always amazed at that.”

NOINK: Ang dami mo na palang naisulat. Can you tell us how and when did you start writing?

“I started writing back when I was fourteen to fifteen years old. Second year high school when I started collecting books and I love reading so much. Then, I discovered an online writing platform back when I was in third year high school. I tried writing kasi dati may nabasa akong story and ayaw ko ng ending so, I thought, bakit hindi ako mag-start magsulat ng sarili ko na gusto ko ang ending. That’s where it started.”

NOINK: Any difficulties na na-experience mo or you’re currently experiencing right now as a writer? How did/do you deal with it?

“It is mostly related sa time, lalo na noong nag-aaral pa ako. It’s kinda hard na pagsabayin ang studies and writing but I deal with it by setting a goal. Kapag natapos kong mag-aral sa allotted time, ang remaining ko ay for writing. Usually din, wala ako sa mood at times. Ginagawa ko naman is that I listen to songs to set my mood.”

NOINK: What has influenced you the most as a writer?

“Reading. May hobby talaga kasi is magbasa and by that, I am inspired to write my own. Sabi ko dati, someday, makikita ko ang libro ko sa bookstores and it happened! Kapag talaga may tiyaga, may nilaga.”

NOINK: Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want? Share mo na rin why.

“I always try to be original kasi I wanted my readers to read something new (not that my stories are all unique, may cliché parts din). Palagi akong natutuwa when my readers are saying that I inspired them, that they learned something. That’s an achievement for me.”

NOINK: We’ll give you a scenario… You feel uninspired and you’ve sat at the computer for an hour without conquering any words. How do you get your creativity flowing?

“I listen to songs, I don’t know how but it sets my mood. Gusto kong songs iyong ma-drama, ‘yong may kwento.”

NOINK: For you, how do you describe a successful author/writer?

“Being a successful author for me is when you’re satisfied of what you’re doing, if you were inspired of writing because it’s your calling. You are just simply happy and fulfilled while doing the things you love the most.”

NOINK: How do you think being a writer has helped you as a person?

“Being a writer helps me a lot in terms of socializing, I am actually a shy person. But now, as a writer, I became more social. Also, hindi ko man naranasan ang istorya ng characters ko, I am learning from them, to their mistakes. I think, that helps me a lot in building the person I really am.”

NOINK: Tell us your motto/hash tag/or any life verse you have.

“Fortune favours the bold.”

NOINK: Okay, it’s time to greet your readers!

“Hi, Archers! It’s heartlessnostalgia again! Thank you for supporting my story Paper Planes on NoInk, I am deeply overwhelmed for your support. Sana ay naging masaya kayo at kinilig sa story ng ating Jer and Lena. It was refreshing to create them. I had fun writing them and I hoped you learned a lot too!

I have a new story here on NoInk entitled, “The Angel’s Mission”. We’ll be trying a fantasy genre and I know you all missed Mirmo! Thank you so much for the support. I love you!”
