No need to panic when deadlines roll in.

It’s not easy working in a creative environment. Why? Because you’re always expected to churn out awesome ideas, brilliant solutions, and all sorts of out-of-the-box executions in more than one project. It can get exhausting fast.

Here are some things that we’ve discovered can keep the ball rolling:

1. Read. Read. Read.

There’s no more stigma in opting to read bite-sized articles, comics, or any shortened versions of long materials. In this day and age, people consume content differently, and the art of reading has evolved into different forms.

The important thing is that you keep reading, no matter what form it comes in. Why? Because it expands your vocabulary. It will help you conceptualize copy, articles, or even design when you know a lot of words, phrases, sayings, etc.

Trust us, it will help.

2. Be observant.

When you feel like your well of ideas is running dry, go out for a walk. Look around the neighborhood. Look at bus stops, graffittis, advertisements, bumper stickers, the sky. Everywhere, there’s something to be found.

You just need to open your eyes, don’t be afraid of looking under unturned stones and whatnot. Something is bound to hit you. If not, hey, you got some exercise anyway.

3. Listen and talk to people.

Sometimes it pays to be nosy at coffee shops or while in line at the bank. You hear interesting conversations around you. It could be material for an article you’re writing or maybe an idea itself. You could even go one step further and start a conversation with the next table. Ask questions.

Most of the time they’re more than willing to participate. Keep your ears and mind open. People have all sorts of stories to tell. From the mundane, to the crazy. Listen.

4. Be curious.

The best articles are always the ones that give us something new to discover. That’s why we are always drawn to the articles that have celebrities doing something behind the scenes, or TBT photos of when they were young, or what they do on their free time. That’s because these are things we don’t know about them.

Keep yourself curious. Ask questions. Even the mundane things can be interesting. Keep in mind articles like life hacks, kitchen hacks, couponing tips and tricks, etc.

There’s always somewhere to get ideas from. You can do it!
